The Joy of the Lord is our Strength...
Remember, when we study how Christ lived (and conducted spiritual warfare) while He was here on the earth, He walked in peace. No matter what was going on around Him, He remained in peace. The joy of the Lord is our strength, and by surrendering to Him all of our worries (and leaving them at the "foot of the cross") we, too, can walk in peace - the peace that surpasses all understanding!
The joy of the Lord is our strength, what an awesome statement that is. When we allow His peace to reign in our lives, we have the mind of Christ and can literally do all things through Christ Jesus Who strengthens us! When we seek Him with all of our heart, mind and spirit, and submit ourselves to Him to lead us and guide us daily (by looking to Him for the answers through daily prayer and daily reading and confessing His word) we are given the peace and the strength to conquer anything that comes our way. Sometimes it is a testing of your faith, to enable you to get to the next level where He wants you to be, so remain strong in Him, and even if the answer comes at the eleventh hour, stand strong!
Here are a few scriptures you can take with you anywhere, and eventually memorize so you can store them in your heart; so you can keep your focus on Him and His promises:
- I the Lord, will be with you and see you through.
Jeremiah 1:8
-
Such a man will not be overthrown by evil circumstances. God's constant care of him will make a deep impression on all who see it. He does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he is settled his mind that Johovah will take care of him. That is why he is not afraid, but can calmly face his foes. He gives generously to those in need. His deeds will never be forgotten. He shall have influence and honor.
Psalms 112:6-9
- What I want from you is your true thanks; I want your promises fulfilled; I want you to trust Me in your times of trouble; so I can rescue you and you can give Me glory.
Psalms 50:14-15
- Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you, I will uphold you with My victorious Right Hand.
Isaiah 41:10
- For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil; to give you a future and a hope. In those days, when you pray, I will listen. You will find Me when you seek Me, if you look for Me in earnest.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
- It is the Lord who goes before you; He will march with you; He will not fail you or let you go, or forsake you. Let there be no cowardice or flinching, but fear not, neither become broken in spirit, depressed, dismayed and unnerved with alarm.
Deuteronomy 31:8
- What a wonderful God we have! He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of every mercy and the One who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardships and trials. Why does He do this? So that when others are troubled, needing our sympathy and encouragement, we can pass on to them this same help and comfort God has given us. You can be sure that the more we undergo sufferings for Christ, the more He will shower us with His comfort and encouragement.
II Corinthians 1:3-5
- When I am afraid, I will put my confidence in You. Yes, I will trust the promises of God. Since I am trusting Him, what can mere man do to me?
Psalm 56:3
- We need have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly; His perfect love for us eliminates all dread of what He might do to us. If we are afraid, it is for fear of what He might do to us, and shows that we are not fully convinced that He really loves us.
I John 4:18
- Johovah Himself is caring for you!
Psalm 121:5
- So do not worry, saying, "what shall we eat or what shall we drink, or what shall we wear?" For the pagans run after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:31-34
- And be satisfied with your present circumstances and with what you have: for He (God) Himself has said, "I will not in any way fail you nor give you up, nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless, nor forsake you nor let you down, or relax My hold on you. Assuredly not! So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, "the Lord is my Helper, I will not be seized with alarm - I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?"
Hebrews 13:5-6
- Now the Lord who created you, says, "Don't be afraid, for I have ransomed you, I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up - the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, your Savior, the Holy One of Israel.. You are precious to Me and honored, and I love you. Don't be afraid, for I am with you."
Isaiah 43:1-5
- Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Matthew 6:26-27
- And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow, they do not labor or spin. Yet, I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Matthew 6:28-30
- Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes?
Matthew 6:25
